Growth and diversification of French television program exports in 2011
France’s Centre national du cinémaet de l’imageanimée (CNC) and TV France International publishin Biarritz, for the 18thRendez-Vous, the statistics of French television program exports.
 
In 2011, international sales of French TV programs increased by 4.8 % and reached 110.6 M€.The total figure of TVexports (sales and presales) is increasing by 12.9 % with 153.6 M€. This resultconfirms the increasing number of sales in 2010 (+5.1%). In a contextwhich remains difficult, French programscontinue on attracting new clients and new territories. The economic crisisstill has an impact on the advertising revenues of foreign broadcasters. They stay on the cautious side of acquiringnew programs of all genres and give priority to their domestic productions. The market fragmentationcontinues with the multiplication of commercial acts.
International presales andcoproductionsof French TV programs increase significantly. Presales increase by 40.9 % with 43.0 M€, the highest level since 2002. Coproductionsare still increasing (+23.3 %) with 77.4 M€, the highest level since 2004.
