This section participates in the drafting and management of community policies in the audiovisual sector (directives including the TSF (television without frontiers) and MEDIA programmes).

It defines and implements the Council of Europe's coproduction aid programme (Eurimages).

It contributes to the promotion of cultural diversity in multilateral organisations (OECD, WTO, etc.).

It is responsible for drafting, modifying and monitoring bilateral coproduction agreements.

Together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Institut français), it manages the support fund for international coprodutions « Aide aux cinémas du monde » (« World cinema support ») and drafts the CNC cooperation policy.

It defines and manages support for canvassing French films abroad (aid for foreign distribution, aid for canvassing foreign markets, the provision of free copies to foreign distributors).

It supports various actions to promote the dissemination of French films at national and international festivals.
