Cinexpert - Movie-going population barometer October 2016

In October 2016, the movie-going audience was mostly made up of men (53.7% compared to 56.4% in September 2016).

The proportion of individuals under 15 in the movie-going audience increased (13.5% in October 2016 compared to 12.9% in September 2016). Cumulatively, over the ten last months of 2016, the share of 3-14 years old reached 14.1%. The share of 15-24 years is stable in October 2016 (17.8%, compared to 17.9% in September), whereas the share of seniors decreased slightly (28.0% compared to 28.3% in September).

The share of the upper socio-professional category is stable (33.7% compared to 33.8% in September 2016), whereas the share of “non-working individuals” increased slightly (40.7% compared to 40.5% in September 2016). This is mainly due to the share of schoolchildren, students in the movie-going audience (22.6 % in October, compared to 21.4 in September 2016).

In October 2016, the proportion of frequent cinemagoers was relatively high during week 42 (32.7%). Frequent cinemagoers accounted for 29.2% of moviegoers in October (compared to 30.9% in September) and occasional.
