Cinexpert - Movie-going population barometer November 2016

In November 2016, the movie-going audience was mostly made up of men (53.9% compared to 53.7% in October 2016).
The proportion of individuals under 15 in the movie-going audience in November 2016 (13.3 %) is similar to that observed in October (13.5%). Cumulatively, over the eleven last months of 2016, the share of 3-14 years old reached 14.1%. The share of 15-24 years increased in November 2016 (18.2%, compared to 17.8% in October), whereas the share of seniors decreased slightly (27.3% compared to 28.0% in October). The share of the upper socio-professional category increased slightly (34.1%, +0.5 percentage point compared to October 2016), as well as the share of “non-working individuals” (41.0%, +0.3 percentage point). The share of schoolchildren, students in the movie-going audience is stable (22.7 % in November, compared to 22.6 in October 2016), whereas the share of retirees decreased (11.8 % in November, 12.1 % in October). In November 2016, the proportion of frequent cinemagoers was relatively high during week 47 (31.1%). Frequent cinemagoers accounted for 28.1% of moviegoers in November (compared to 29.2% in October) and occasional cinemagoers made up 14.1% (14.9% in October).
