According to the last estimates by the CNC, admissions in film theatres reached 16.64 million in January 2017, and thus are stable compared to January 2016 (-0.4%). Over the last 12 months, theater attendance reached 212.57 million, which represented a growth of 3.6% compared to the 12 months preceding January 2016.
The market share of French Films was 42.1% in January 2017 (36.8% in January 2016) and the market share of American Films amounted to 50.3 % (51.7% in January 2016). Over the last 12 months, the market share of French film was 36.2%, while American films captured 52.3% and others films represented 11.5% of the market.
