The mission of the legal and regulatory affairs department is to :
- participate in the study and preparation of any laws and regulations concerning the film, television, video and multimedia industry and any study or question of a legal or tax nature affecting these sectors
- prepare nominations to the commissions reporting to the CNC
- advise and assist CNC directorates and departments to prepare specific decisions and contracts
- examine disputes, settlements and follow any legal proceedings in the courts
- compile and circulate legal documentation and newsletters relating to sectors within CNC's remit
