CNC-GDC-2024

The international event for game developers will take place from March 18th to 22nd in San Francisco. The CNC will be present to highlight French studios as well as the Game France label.

Every year, for five days, the Game Developers Conference (GDC) gathers game developers from around the world at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This major event for companies from the sector is an opportunity to position themselves in the market. This year, Business France, the body responsible for the international development of French companies, global investment, and the promotion of the country's economy, will set up its French Pavilion at the event. For the 2024 edition, The CNC will have a dedicated stand with a specific program. The aim is to showcase the French videogame industry and the Game France label.

This edition will be marked by the projection of the trailer introducing this new label, launched by the CNC in 2023 at the Paris Games Week in the presence of the Minister of Culture. The goal is to promote the French video game ecosystem nationally and internationally and to bring French studios together under a single banner. Its purpose is also to bring together all the stakeholders involved in the video game industry across all borders. The gateway for professionals and companies who want to set up in or work with France, The Game France label assists with project funding either through the tax credit or the support fund for video games (FAJV). The projection of the trailer at the GDC will be a major milestone for the French presence at this event.

In parallel, the CNC will be presenting the French video game production to international audiences. Followed by a panel in partnership with Villa Albertine and Business France about French studios adapting international licenses, such as the Villeurbanne-based studio Old Skull Games, which developed Spongebob Patty Pursuit, based on the world of SpongeBob SquarePants and the Bordeaux-based studio Shiro Games, which developed Dune: Spice Wars, inspired by Frank Herbert's famous literary saga, recently adapted for the cinema. The first studio will be represented by the Chief Operating Officer Hervé Sohm and the second will be represented by the CEO and Creative Director, Nicolas Cannasse.

Finally, a "Happy Hour" of drink reception and networking will be held at the French Pavilion with 30 French players and international partners.
