The Palestine Film Institute (PFI) is the national body responsible for funding, preserving and promoting the cinema of Palestine. It seeks to support film productions from and for Palestine, through providing development and consultancy, increasing accessibility to funding, and connecting film talents and
experts. The PFI is rooted in the tradition of committed cinema and the history of using independent film practice as a tool for social change.

PFI, in partnership with CNC (Centre national du cinéma etde l'image animée) in France, will present a selection of upcoming Palestinian feature film projects in the context of a two-day coproduction workshop organized at Le Marché du Film of the 72nd Festival de Cannes, in order to maximise coproduction possibilities with French producers.

Palestinian film producers are invited to submit their feature film projects in development (70 mins or more) and to participate in this workshop. All formats, including documentary, fiction, animation, and expanded cinema are welcomed. An international and independent jury will select five to six projects from those submitted, and the chosen producers will be invited by CNC to attend the workshop in May of this year.

The workshop will consist of two days: the first includes meetings tailored to each project in collaboration with film consultants, while the second includes round table discussions and one-to-one meetings with French producers. A catalogue presenting the selected projects will be produced. The travel, accommodation and accreditation of selected producers will be fully covered. In order to submit, the following documents are required:

1. Film title and log line
2. Synopsis (1 page)
3. Treatment (6-10 pages).
4. Director’s statement (1 Page).
5. Three still images of the project.
6. Budget.
7. Approved Financial Plan.
8. Director and Producer Biofilmographies.
