According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 16.05 million in March 2012, down from 16.94 million in February 2011. (-5.3 %). For the first three months of 2012, admissions totalled 50.25 admissions, a drop of 5.5 % compared with the same period in 2011. Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions were 212.7 million. It increased to 5.3 % year-on-year.
French films market share in the first three months of 2012 was 49.6 %. US features shared 38.1 % of total admissions over the same period. Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 42.7%, 46.0% for American films and 11.3% for other films
