According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 16.51 million in May 2012, up from 20.39 million in February 2011. (+5.1%).
For the first five months of 2012, admissions totalled 87.15 admissions, a rise of 5.4% compared with the same period in 2011.
Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions were 221.08 million. It increased to 12.3% year-on-year.
French films market share in May 2012 was 47.5% compared to 38.8% in May 2011. US features shared 41.1% of total admissions in May 2012 compared to 46.5% in May 2011.
Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 44.3%, 43.7% for American films and 12.0% for other films.
