According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 17.59 million in October 2012, down from 18.97 million in October 2011 (-7.3%). For the first ten months of 2012, admissions totalled 160.97 million, a drop of 2.4% compared with the same period in 2011. Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions were 212.63 million. It increased to 4.5% year-on-year.
French Films market share in the first ten months of 2012 was 42.3% of total admissions. US features shared 47.4% of total admissions. Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 46.0%, 44.2% for American films and 9.8% for other films.
