According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 17.47 million in August 2011, up from 17.02 million in August 2010 (+2.6%).

For the first eight months of 2011, admissions totalled 135.0 million, a drop of 3.0% compared with the same period in 2010.
Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions were 202.6 million. It fell by 3.0% year-on-year.
 
French Films market share in the first eight months of 2011 was 32.3% of total admissions, slightly down on a similar 32.8% share compared with the same period in 2010.
US features shared 52.0% of total admissions (50.7% between January and August 2010).
Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 35.5%, 48.4% for American films and 16.2% for other films.
