According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 20.46 million in April 2012, up from 13.78 million in April 2011. (+48.5%).
For the first four months of 2012, admissions totalled 70.71 admissions, a rise of 5.6% compared with the same period in 2011. Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions were 220.36 million. It increased to 11.7% year-on-year.
French films market share in the first four months of 2012 was 50.0%. US features shared 39.1% of total admissions over the same period. Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 43.2%, 44.9% for American films and 11.9% for other films.
