According to the last estimates made by the CNC, admissions in theaters reached 25.45 million in February 2016, up from 22.53 million in February 2015 (+12.9%). This is the highest level ever observed since the beginning of theatre admission statistics in 1980.
For the first two months of 2015, admissions totalled 42.03 million, a rise of 6.9% compared with the same period in 2015.
Over the past twelve months, estimated admissions totalled 208.7 million, a drop of 2.0% compared with the same period in 2015.
French Films market share in February 2016 was 42.2% of total admissions. US features shared 51.1% of total admissions. Over the past twelve months, French films market share was 34.4%, 56.4% for American films and 9.2% for other films.
